Podcast – six years after it closed, what could happen to Manston airport?

Six years after it closed, we’ve been speaking to the owners of Manston Airport to find out what could eventually happen to the site.
 
They say, they want to create a trade route from Thanet to London.
 
That would involve planes carrying cargo to the airport, it could then be trucked down to Ramsgate port, shipped along the coast and up the River Thames.

Podcast – it’s claimed parked lorries are putting lives at risk – 24/02/2020

Our top story is about a group of people in Dartford who claim lorries parking where they live are putting lives at risk.
Last Thursday night, a motorcyclist was taken to hospital after colliding with an HGV on London Road – back in December, a man died after crashing into a lorry in the same area.
They’ve now set up a petition.

Podcast – High Court rules in favour of closing stroke units at three Kent hospitals – 21/02/20

Campaigners say they’re considering appealing the High Court’s decision to uphold plans to close stroke units at three hospitals in Kent.
It means the emergency stroke treatment at the QEQM in Margate will end next spring – with services at Medway Maritime and Tunbridge Wells also set to shut.
Specialist centres are instead going to be opened in Ashford, Dartford and Maidstone.
